BDA Requirements by State
Key Information for buildings located in Florida:
- Since December 31 of 2019 every new construction must meet the requirements for the fire department for radio communications
- As of December 31 of 2019 every existing commercial structure that does not meet the requirements for minimum radio signal strength for fire department communications must apply for an appropriate permit with the local government agency in jurisdiction. Also, they must demonstrate that the building be in compliance by January 1, 2022.
- By December 31 of 2022 every existing residential building will be required to apply for the appropriate permit for required communications installation. The existing apartment buildings must have strong radio strength by January 1, 2025.
